Welcome to Sutton Bonington Cricket Club
Founded in 1824, the club has a long history and encourages participation from cricketers of all ages and abilities with particular emphasis on those residing in Sutton Bonington and the surrounding villages.
Situated in the heart of the village, against the backdrop of Sutton Bonington hall are the playing fields, the home of the cricket club. This is a truly spectacular place to play cricket with the spinney and meadow nature reserve at the back of the grounds, leading down to the river soar.
The cricket square and outfield is a credit to the long hours spent by the groundsman providing a safe and reliable environment for youngsters to learn the game. The club regularly host county junior games, a reflection of the playing surface and facilities at the club.
The club always welcomes new players who wish to play league or friendly cricket on Saturdays and Sundays. There are two Saturday teams who play in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League, one of the largest in the country, and there is also league cricket on a Sunday in the Newark Alliance.
The club also operate midweek practice sessions and matches with qualified coaches on hand to aid the development of children of all ages in a secure and fun environment. This family-oriented club undertakes a full and varied range of social activities culminating in our end of season tournament day and tour.
